Hey, happy new year.
It’s 2012 now. Crazy. Some people believe that this is our last year of existence. As for me, I try to live every day like it’s 2012 (and every night like it’s 1999). Just FYI.
Anyway, as many of you have already noticed and written in about, my last record Forever If Ever is no longer up on iTunes, Amazon, my site, stores, anywhere. It has disappeared. So if you have already purchased your copy then great! It’s value just went up. It’s a collector’s item now. It once was worth $10.00 but now I estimate that it’s value has sky rocketed to at least $11.20-11.25. I know this might be a bummer to some of you out there who are wanting to buy a copy but the silver lining here is that the reason I took Forever If Ever down is because I have just signed with a new record label (which I’m really excited about) and I’m working on some new stuff that will be out soon (which I’m also really excited about!).
So if you’re not already on the email list go to www.jonmcl.com and sign up. I’ll send you hand written notes… that I then transfer to a Word document and send as regular text. But still it’s pretty exciting.

Hooray for you! I was listening to your album on spotify and then it went away and I was sad. But hooray for YouTube and concert videos so I’m still able to get my jonmcl foreverifever fix. But I was still sad I couldn’t buy the songs I’ve become a wee bit obsessed with. But this news now makes me happy for you and I will wait patiently for your new album. Whew! I was afraid there was a problem with the album. That’s a relief to know you were just moving your career onwards. Personally, I think a LOT more of the world needs to hear Jon Mclaughlin’s music. But I realize greater stardom comes at the price of personal privacy unfortunately. I hope this new label takes you where you want to go (and at the rate you want to climb). Good luck! All your fans are rooting for you.

Well, Forever if Ever is my favorite album of the last year, so I’m glad I got my copy while I could! Honestly it might be one of my top 5 of all time! I’m glad you signed! Though I did like the rawness of Forever if Ever, that’s what really drew me to it. So I hope the label allows you to maintain that. Anyways, best of luck! <3

I am such a fan of yours. I literally spend all of my free periods in school youtubing every song & interview. Desperately trying to get some of my friends to listen to your awesome music. And this blog is great. I read a few posts ago that you were in a Panera in Fort Collins, CO. I shivered when I read that. You were like a few miles from my house! Anyways, I love Summer Is Over and it’s just as brilliant as your other stuff. I heard your new album was coming out around May…hm, I now know what I want for my birthday. Currently, I’m desperately trying to find sheet music for Beating My Heart, Already In, and Indiana, while listening to Summer Is Over. I just wanted to say that you are in the small percentage of young musicians who are actually talented without the dreaded autotune. Keep making music – you’re a great inspiration!

See, you just proved what I already knew! My two favorite sings/songwriters/pianists are you and Ben Folds – and then you go and record a song with his buddy Sarah Bareilles, whom I didn’t really know until recently and I just love! Can’t wait to see you at the Superbowl Village and I hope Ellen takes you up on your offer! I have to watch the “For You, From Me – Indy” video every so often, it makes me so PROUD to live in Indy!
I hope your new record label will push you to new heights and make the world hear your beautiful music. Your talent cannot go unnoticed. Never stop singing and making music because your voice heals my soul.
